Colours to make you feel warm....

I'll admit, as I get older I feel the cold more and dull days are just not my thing!  So when I saw these teardrop beads in these gorgeous colours, I had to have them!  So after the pain of paying for postage from the United States and customs fees, I finally got my hands on them.  I just love the warmth of these colours, they make me think of Spring, Summer, peaches and real strawberry ice cream =)

So I've wrapped them with sterling silver wire and made them into earrings, will be making matching pendants.  These are perfect as Mothers Day gift or if like me you love some colour, treat yourself!

You can find these beauties in my etsy shop, just click here!
Enjoy!

I've decided to have a January sale this year with 15% off everything in my Easy shop!  I'll be adding more lovely jewellery to the shop throughout the month in the run up to Valentines Day, so it's the perfect time to treat yourself or someone special =)

Already tempted this year, I've treated myself to some lovely new jewellery findings. With my 20+ years worth of beads to sort through this month, you can expect to see some eye candy on here.  Planing to do more research on apps that can help me with my business, it's time to get focussed!

The End of Another Year.....

2016 has been one of those years, that if I had a time machine, I wouldn't rush back to visit it!  But seriously there's been good and bad things happen this year, hopefully I'm a little wiser at the end of it and ready to embrace the New Year and all the possibilities awaiting me.   I still need to become better organized and focused in all aspects of my life (blog more often!) and buy a pair of red latin dance shoes (love to dance) =)

Above is a picture of one of my latest creations.  First thing I'm going to do once the kids are back to school, is go through all my 24+ years worth of beads, I have a lot of beads, reorganize them and price them, ready for my jewellery making or selling as de-stash.

What are your plans for the begining of the year? I'd love to know!

I will blog soon, but in the meantime feel free to visit my Etsy shop for a browse of what I've made so far by clicking here =)

Happy New Year!

It's almost Christmas!.....

And another year seems to of zoomed by!  Looking forward to the New Year as my youngest child will be starting nursery full time, which means no more 3 hours of school runs....Yes 3 hours!  So hopefully I will have more time to blog, be creative, take photo's and work on my business =)

The Christmas holiday is always a busy time of year.  I have a few gifts to make and lots of cooking to do and plan to dance as much as possible, so I don't have to watch how many mince pies I eat!  The smell of mulled wine is becoming quite common in my home and the Christmas tree is up with all it's lights twinkling =)

If you're still in need of some gifts, you can find my Christmas delivery dates in my Etsy shop announcement, click here

As you can see I've started making glass teardrop pendants.  I'm totally in love with being able to change the pendant on my own necklace to suit what I'm wearing and these match the earrings that I make.  The pendant is £6 and with a sterling silver chain £10-11.  I've had some happy customers already that have bought these as a gift or for themselves =)

Well until I next blog, thank you for visiting and I hope you have a lovely festive holiday!

Beautiful Combinations....

I thought I'd share some eye candy with you.  I love love love detail, colour, texture and maybe this can be seen in my work.  I've collected beads, pendants, charms and various findings to be able to create pieces of jewellery that I find pleasing.
The above necklace is a perfect example of this.  I've had the smooth round Kyanite beads for over a decade, the same is true of the fine silver turtle charm I've used as a pendant.  It was only more recently that I purchased the lampwork beads, which I feel match the Kyanite perfectly.
These ancient looking lampwork beads were created with linear trails as inspired by the great civilizations of the past and were aged artifically using various techniques.  I've teamed them up with these fair trade Karen Hill Tribe fine silver sun print beads and I think the combination works well.
Here I've used Karen Hill Tribe fine silver bead caps (all the fine silver featured in this blog post is fair trade) and lovely Aquamarine beads, detail meets smooth and simple, I like the result =)

Just Add Some Sparkle....

I love colour!  In my possession I have a 18k white and yellow gold chain necklace, that I bought in Venezuela the last time I was there (which was too long ago) and I've made different gemstone pendants to fit onto it to suit my mood or what I am wearing.
Having the different pendants to choose from is wonderful, each one is different, with it's own style and energy, I can't stress enough how handy they are and how much I love them!  My favorite pendants are a beautiful Pink Sapphire heart cut briolette, a Oro Verde Quartz shield cut briolette (like the one shown in the picture below) and now a tiny dainty Lapis Lazuli onion cut briolette which I wire wrapped with goldfilled wire.
One by one I'll be adding these beauties to my etsy shop and resisting keeping them for myself ; )

Feeling blue...

Yes I know it's been a long time since I've made a treasury to share my lovely etsy finds with you.  The truth is life happens and well mojo is affected, but then it starts to come back in trickles and then starts to flow.  So I hope you'll enjoy taking the time to explore these beautiful finds and the talented people behind them!

Enjoy & share the love =) xx

Golden Summer....

Gorgeously vibrant and golden!  I've added these lovelies to my collection of teardrop earrings and the wonderful thing is that as the wire and ear wires used are 14k goldfilled they are kind to sensitive ears, without the huge price tag =)
So what is gold filled? The answer is that gold-filled is an actual layer of gold that has been pressure bonded to another suitable metal alloy and wears like solid gold. There is no flaking, rubbing off or changing of colour and your skin will only come into contact with the pure gold. This is what makes it more affordable, whilst still providing all the qualities of solid gold.
Whilst I love silver, I love the warmth of gold and there is something luxurious about it.  Find these lovelies here in the teardrop section of my etsy shop =)

Teardrops in every colour....

Well not quite but I'm trying!  I love these briolettes and now have over 30 different colours/ sizes to play with.  They are great for everyday wear and are also popular as bridesmaid jewellery.  I like wire wrapping them with sterling silver wire, the end result is worth the extra time it takes =)
The matte aqua blue and matte teal green colours that I've just added to the collection, have a great sea glass look that I love.
These are another new favorite.  These opal light teal green beauties are both translucent and semi opaque, as I've tried to show with this photo.  No two earrings are exactly the same, which I like =)

Enjoy!

Happy New Year & hello Marsala.....

Happy New Year!  2014 seemed to zoom by and here we are with a brand new shiny 2015, so lets make it a good one!  I've already been buying more lovely beads and supplies so watch this blog for lots of eye candy.

This years pantone colour is Marsala and what a yummy colour it is.  I've had a search on Etsy and found these beauties to wear or for the home.  Very tempted to purchase some of these lovelies!  As I've said before I love red and can see this tone working well through out the seasons with other colours.

Maybe not quite Marsala, but these garnets are beautiful and I love the twisted spiral briolettes cut, it's one of my favorite.

Enjoy & have a happy, healthy 2015 =)

Christmas Loveliness...

It's nearly Christmas but there's still time to do some online shopping so here are some lovely finds from the British Emporia Team and other talented Etsyians.   I went for a ethnic spice theme for the above treasury, I love the combination of cinnamon, cloves, star anise, nut meg, ginger and citrus.

And you can't have Christmas without including some Robins =)

What does a Jewellery Maker Wear...

Well I've swapped my petite earrings for these lovelies recently.  Since Autumn I've felt the need for lovely purples and reds in my wardrobe.  I made these earrings a few years ago and have found myself wearing them daily.  Their a nice weight, not too heavy and a good length, not getting caught up in my scarf.  As these are real rubies and there are quite few of them, I used lever back ear wires to make sure they stay put in my ears.  Wire wrapped with sterling silver wire, I added tiny orissa garnets and Swarovski crystals to complete these earrings.
And here are my most worn bracelets at the moment.  One bracelet is simply made of faceted black onyx rondelle beads and sterling silver.  The second is made of a combination of rose quartz, red jade, amethyst, rhodonite, fluorite, a onyx butterfly, fair trade Karen Hill Tribe black silver beads and sterling silver wire.  I love the combination on the two bracelets and the combining colours, they help ward off the cold =)

Lampwork Beautiful...

Lots of lampwork bead eye candy for today's post!  I finally managed to take photos whilst there was some sunshine.  You might of read my earlier post on Autumn/ fall, it has a picture of a beautiful collection of leaves I photoed near my children's primary school.  Well here is the bracelet inspired by the colours of those leaves.
This bracelet is also Autumnal inspired.
These earrings have warm cognac coloured lampwork beads.
I then moved onto these ivory creamy caramel smoky beige lampwork beads.  These were handcrafted by lampwork bead artisan Sue Doran and no two beads are alike.
As you can see I've made these asymmetrical earrings from complementing beads which I think work beautifully together.

Thank you for stopping by =)

Packaging....

Well it's been something I've been working on, like my Etsy shop, so I thought I'd take some photo's to share =) Note to self need to buy sharper scissors to snip those little threads on the organza gift bags/pouches!
This is the free gift I added in the package, who doesn't like a prezzie =)
My matching sticker and business card.  You likey?  The designs are by moi =)
And finally the box sealed with love & cute kawaii washi tape, ready to be posted.

Tis the season to be jolly...

It's December already and it's time to put the Christmas tree up and start decorating the house.  Maybe you enjoy this time of year differently, everyone has their own way to spend the festive season, so I'll wish you light, warmth and happiness =)

Here are some lovely Etsy picks I've selected for your viewing pleasure, so do have a look at these lovely shops!

I had a busy weekend, but it was lovely to take part in the Crouch End Barboot in Little Paris and to Ashmount Primary School Winter Fair, I even got to help with the decorating of Santa's Grotto =)

Enjoy =)

Winter is coming......

It's getting darker earlier and there's a cold chill in the wind.  Judging by the amount of berries on the tree's it's going to be a harsh winter.  But rather then focus on the heating bills, Winter is a time of magical beauty.  So here I've put together a collection of icy blue polar bear beautiful finds for your viewing pleasure.  Snow, ice and polar bears, you can't more magical then that really =)
Here are a pair of icy blue petite teardrop earring that I made, they are delicate and the colour is beautiful =)

Getting the colour right......

Well I've been busy making, photographing, re-sizing and listing my latest lovelies and as I take my photo's in natural light it can take several attempts at getting it right.  With our lovely ever so temperamental British weather one second the lighting is just right and the next too dull.....
I'm happy to report that these photo's are true to colour, so they've made it into my shop.  As for the others, well lets hope there's some sunshine tomorrow!

It's Autumn.....

It's already Autumn, the fact that there are conkers (horse chestnuts) all over the pavements makes it official!  I'm kind of sad that we never made it to the seaside this year, but it looks like summer is done for another year, so maybe if we do get a chance to visit a beach it will be for some fossil hunting rather then swimming.  I've been a bit ill, so energy has been low, in part maybe due to doing the books for last tax year (not fun), but now it's done (yeah) I'm trying to rekindle my treasury mojo.

I picked Damson Tree's Sunflower earrings as my inspiration with late Summer early Autumn in mind.  Honey and bees came to mind and then the beautiful colours of Autumn leaves in reds, rusts and other beautiful shades.  Because there are still beautiful flowers in full bloom, I added this gorgeous floral silk pillow cushion that has been made from a vintage kimono by Lynn Watt (She's the lovely lady I asked to make me some special draw string gift bags for some of my higher end jewellery).

These orange lovelies are perfect for Autumn.  I've still to decide what new additions my wardrobe will be needing for this Autumn/ Winter, but maybe I'll add some orange in as it's the colour of joy and clementines =)
