Happy International Women's Day!...

Happy International Women's Day!  In fact Happy New Year as well, hehe.  I realize that I haven't blogged since last year, I'm sorry, I promise to be good and blog regularly from now on!

So it's International Women's Day today and there are some amazingly talented crafty women on Etsy, so I've decided to create a treasury to share some of their work with you =)

Enjoy!

Seaside Hues....

Hello my lovelies, it's almost March already and in the UK we'll be celebrating Mother's Day.  So I've decided to create this treasury of beautiful finds with seaside themed gifts.  Hopefully I'll get the chance to visit the seaside soon and look for some seaglass!  But until then I'll have to content myself with making some sea themed jewellery.

I've been making lots of teardrop earrings in new colours (they are lovely) that would fit into this colour scheme, as well as in various shades of teal.  Now I need to make a to do list and do a little creative planning for the year ahead =)

Healthy thoughts....

It's that time of year again, the shops are full of things to buy as gifts for other people (even before the Christmas trees were packed away), but maybe before diving into all of that it's time to take a little time for yourself to re-energize and get healthy (well healthier every little bit helps).  Health is wealth!  So what healthy things am I doing you might wonder.  Well I'm trying to get stronger, not like a body builder, I'm hyper-mobile so getting stronger for me hopefully will mean less pain and injuries.  I have a rowing machine which I'm using and am learning the art of sit ups.  But dancing is also good exercise and you can do it in the comfort of your home!  Drinking more water!  Not too much caffeine ( I NEED MY COFFEE).  Eating healthy, I already am quiet good, but I've been trying to cut down on wheat and use more spelt flour in my baking.  In the cupboard I have some nuts, walnuts at the moment, to snack on and dark chocolate chip oat biscuits (40% less sugar and yummy), so I'm less tempted by the triple chocolate biscuits!  I also bought myself a comfy pair of bright pink and black trainers, one day I'll run in them so that counts ;)

Well to inspire healthy thoughts and share some lovely finds I made the above treasury.  I love red!

Enjoy!

Happy New Year & hello Marsala.....

Happy New Year!  2014 seemed to zoom by and here we are with a brand new shiny 2015, so lets make it a good one!  I've already been buying more lovely beads and supplies so watch this blog for lots of eye candy.

This years pantone colour is Marsala and what a yummy colour it is.  I've had a search on Etsy and found these beauties to wear or for the home.  Very tempted to purchase some of these lovelies!  As I've said before I love red and can see this tone working well through out the seasons with other colours.

Maybe not quite Marsala, but these garnets are beautiful and I love the twisted spiral briolettes cut, it's one of my favorite.

Enjoy & have a happy, healthy 2015 =)

Tis the season to be jolly...

It's December already and it's time to put the Christmas tree up and start decorating the house.  Maybe you enjoy this time of year differently, everyone has their own way to spend the festive season, so I'll wish you light, warmth and happiness =)

Here are some lovely Etsy picks I've selected for your viewing pleasure, so do have a look at these lovely shops!

I had a busy weekend, but it was lovely to take part in the Crouch End Barboot in Little Paris and to Ashmount Primary School Winter Fair, I even got to help with the decorating of Santa's Grotto =)

Enjoy =)

It's Autumn.....

It's already Autumn, the fact that there are conkers (horse chestnuts) all over the pavements makes it official!  I'm kind of sad that we never made it to the seaside this year, but it looks like summer is done for another year, so maybe if we do get a chance to visit a beach it will be for some fossil hunting rather then swimming.  I've been a bit ill, so energy has been low, in part maybe due to doing the books for last tax year (not fun), but now it's done (yeah) I'm trying to rekindle my treasury mojo.

I picked Damson Tree's Sunflower earrings as my inspiration with late Summer early Autumn in mind.  Honey and bees came to mind and then the beautiful colours of Autumn leaves in reds, rusts and other beautiful shades.  Because there are still beautiful flowers in full bloom, I added this gorgeous floral silk pillow cushion that has been made from a vintage kimono by Lynn Watt (She's the lovely lady I asked to make me some special draw string gift bags for some of my higher end jewellery).

These orange lovelies are perfect for Autumn.  I've still to decide what new additions my wardrobe will be needing for this Autumn/ Winter, but maybe I'll add some orange in as it's the colour of joy and clementines =)

The Sun is out again......

So before I try and take some photo's and maybe go out into the garden, I thought I'd share another treasury (yup I've been getting back into the habit of making them).  My aim was to create a relaxed garden/ home, with a little walk to the local shops theme.  Maybe this is because I like going out for a walk later on in the day when it's not so hot and getting a coffee =)  I love everything here!  The rolling pin is wonderful and I think it would make a great gift for someone special I know and the espresso cups are too cute.

Think I might try and take better picture's of these earrings.  The are a lovely antique pale lustered green =)

Looking for a Rainbow....

It's been hot 24 - 7 until the rain came today with thunder and lightning.  And in between the rain showers if the sun comes out maybe you would of seen a rainbow.  There's always something magical about seeing a rainbow and my children love spotting them. But today I went looking for rainbows on Etsy, created by my talented team mates and other Etsyians and here are some of the lovely finds I found =)

I've also been adding some new colours to the collection of teardrop briolette earrings available in my etsy shop, with more to come, but still have lots of pictures to take!  Hopefully now the kids are on holiday I'll have more time and some sunshine to take the pictures!

And now available from my Etsy shop is this lovely set of 8 pairs of earrings =)

Finding the Ocean.....

I love the Sea and find the Oceans fascinating, so no wonder many of my treasuries are themed after them.  As always I love looking for finds in aquatic colours and tried to capture a little of the movement as well.  The beautiful teal skirt in the top row looks to me as if its floating with the beautiful fish =)

Enjoy!

Fairytales from the Inner Rainbow....

As a member of the British Emporia team on Etsy, I take part in a weekly themed team treasury event, where we all create a treasury each for that weeks theme and then jointly promote them online on Wednesday evening from 7pm GMT.

This week the theme was indigo violet.  I think you'll agree that quiet often in fairytales you'll find woods, queens, princesses, crowns, pendants, flowers and there's even a famous shoe or two somewhere in the mix & a puss in boots.   Of course I had to include some iolite in the treasury, as this gem stone is normally violet-blue or indigo in colour.  Iolite is also know as water sapphire and I included the lovely raindrops photo by Murry Bolesta and blue mosaic earrings by Creating Trouble, as they reminded me of this aspect of the stone and a pond where there once was a frog prince =)
Here are a lovely pair of earrings you might find in the realm of the inner rainbow =)

Pitter Patter....

As in the sound of little feet or rain if your in the UK!  This week I created this treasury for Crafty Folk Team's Shop of the Week, Made by Eden Grace and I choose Kirsty’s beautiful personalized baby name cloud for the theme.  It's super cute as are all her other creations.  Kirsty uses beautiful bright rainbow colours, her shop is so colourful and as someone who can't sew, well very limited shall we say, I'm in awe of her talents =)

Happy December!

It's that time again, the festive season is here!  In London I can report that we've had some cold and foggy days, the mornings can be painfully freezing!  The shops are all a buzz with shoppers and the carol singers are out in full force, often collecting for good causes.

This year I've noticed an increase in handmade, vintage and buy local events which is wonderful!  I had a stall at the the lovely Little Paris in Crouch End and at Ashmount Primary School's wonderful Advent Market.

Here is a collection of beautiful finds from Etsy for your viewing pleasure =)

It's Treasure-Thon Time Again......

And here's one I made earlier =)  I just love these colours! If I was thinking about semi precious stones it would be olden rutilated quartz and imperial topaz.

I created this treasury for the 14th Craft Britannia Treasure-Thon which is taking place today.

The Good Life....

It doesn't really take that much to make me smile.  The simple things in life like food, things that smell nice, a little sunshine and being outdoors, for example taking a walk, can make you feel good.  I think I'd make quiet a good hobbit =)

Walking beneath the leafy canopy of tall trees is something I love doing and eating chocolate orange cookies is another favorite.

So the above treasury is full of delicious finds, with lots of art and bits for the home.

Still dreaming of summer....

Ok so the idea here was to create 4 summer themes, the fresh summer's day, feeling hot hot hot, high summer flower power and Mediterranean watermelon heaven ( you can't get much better then watermelon!)

Green the colour of new growth and vitality.  Here I choose beautiful green finds with all the promise of summer to enjoy!

Created with a longing for summer with its blue skies, lush grass and that feeling of freedom that the outdoors brings, hence the presence of the winged creatures of flight =)
