A touch of blue...

I sometimes maybe spend too long making these treasuries, but they are fun to make and a kind of challenge.  I also think of them as mood boards and I do enjoy sharing the love.

The Beauty of Black and White...

These pictures, drawings and jewellery are amazing, well I think so and you can look at them here.  The nude is a charcoal drawing, which at first glance I thought was a photo, the artist is so talented, I wish I could draw like that!  I'm really glad I managed to get a screen shot of this treasury =)

I love making treasuries...

I love making treasuries so I'm going to take some screen shots of some of my favorite one's to share =)  This was made for the shop of the week, Kitzie G.

Craft Britannia's shop of the week Kitzie G

Gift Tags - Set of 12 in Pink, Red and Orange Botanical Floral Papercut Designs
Beautiful botanical inspired designs that would look so at home in Kew Gardens with their refined presence.  The designs are very clean and the assortment of colours is gorgeous.

The designer behind Kitzie G, Laura, in her own words describes her work as being,
"original contemporary and colourful botanical designs are inspired by the natural world - the shapes and silhouettes of plants and flowers, in bud, leaf and full bloom"
As this weeks Craft Britannia's Shop of the Week, read the Kitzie G interview for a wonderful glimpse behind the scences.

Introducing The Feminine Touch......

This shop is home to beautiful hand knitted, crocheted, felted, recycled and upcycled  lovelies.  Sandra, the lady behind it all, chooses quality wool and mohair yarn and enjoys bringing new life to unused clothing by upcycling it, which is a great idea!  This wonderful cushion is a good example of what she creates =)

Her shop has a wide selection of accessories for the home, as well as beautiful shawls, scarfs and other clothing.  I love teal and the above scarf is gorgeous, as someone that can't really knit I'm in awe of the detail.

The Feminine Touch (the name of the shop) is well worth a visit =)

I'd love a cuppa!

Reading through the mornings team Craft Britannias chat on Etsy, there's a bit of a discussion going on about how we Etsyians can spread the word about all the lovely Handmade and Vintage goodies there are to be found on Etsy.  If you are a crafter then there are also supplies being sold, many of which are unique!

So today seems like the perfect day to start introducing some lovely shops, as the skys are gray and I can't take any new pics.  This Tea cosy by The Feminine Touch caught my eye as I have not had a cuppa yet and the colour is so warm and cosy =)

I'll be back once I have a large cuppa in my hand and had a good nose around to see what treasures I can find!

A little gold to brighten up your day.....

Most of my jewellery is hand crafted using silver, but I do also use high quality gold filled and gold vermeil as well.

So what is gold filled?  The answer is that  gold-filled is an actual layer of gold that has been pressure bonded to another suitable metal alloy and wears like solid gold.  There is no flaking, rubbing off or changing of colour and your skin will only come into contact with the pure gold.  This makes it more affordable, whilst still providing all the qualities of solid gold.
Gold-filled jewellery is not costume jewellery as the quantity of gold must be at least 1/20th by weight of the total product.

With care gold-filled jewellery should last a life time.

The Shiana Vermeil Karen hill tribe silver that I use is made using a nickel-free process. They plate the pure silver with 1 micron of 18K gold for strength, then follow the process by plating with 2 microns of 24K gold with 6 additional microns of protective coating. The 3 micron (micro meter) coating is guaranteed.  It is hand crafted in small batches and is approved fair trade, making it all the more beautiful.

Whats new on Etsy.....

is a new about section that you can find on the Etsy shop page if the seller has completed it.  Mines still a work in progress and no doubt I'll go back to it and fix it up.  I need to get or take a decent photo of myself, I'm a bit photo shy and used to being behind the camera.  so here a a couple of pictures I took for my about page, just to show some of the materials I use before they become  pieces of jewellery =)

A little rain is good for the garden.....

Well after all that sunshine the rain was bound to follow and I guess it keeps things nice and green.  Whilst it was hot and sunny our little garden was treated too some lovely new flowers, including  lavender and red geraniums.  There's also been a burst of floral earrings in my etsy shop, I just managed to get the pictures taken whilst there was a break in the clouds.  So here are some pics to brighten my blog up =)
