Sakura Earrings...

I love cherry blossoms, as you may of noticed from my blossoms and waves collection of pocket mirrors and now that I have these lovely beads I've made them into earrings perfect to welcome back spring!

I'll have to try and get better pic's when the lighting is better, I just missed the sunshine today =)

You can find these lovelies in my Etsy shop, with more colours to come!

A wee taste of Scotland..

Today's Crafty Folk Team's Red Hot 100+ winner was Miss Winnie Makes, the chosen item her gorgeous Tartan boudoir pillow cushion.  Now I bet that you would of never guessed by my name that I'm Scottish.  Well I was born in Scotland and that's where my mothers half of the family are from.  In my ancestry are surnames like Davidson, Sinclair and Wood, I wonder if I'm related to the Wood in Harry Potter ;)

Tartan boudoir pillow cushion

Well with that said I went with a Scottish theme for todays treasury and went searching through Etsy for finds that would complement the beautiful colours in Miss Winnie's wonderful cushion.  I have to say there was a lack of photographs with Scottish heather, but I think you'll agree that the Bruyere heather photo is beautiful.  The Scottish highlands water colour brings a smile to my face, as do so many of the other items in this treasury.  I was happy to find the oatmeal spurtle, but I remember my mother using an old one to stir the nappies in our old top opening washing machine!

Enjoy!

If I had a little Princess...

There is just so much gorgeously beautiful items to buy for little girls, that maybe its better that I'm going to have a little boy!  The amount for girls is amazing.  I guess I got to enjoy it a bit when my daughters were younger, but oh the temptation is so great!  So I guess I've kind of already given away the theme of this treasury which I created for yesterdays Red Hot 100+ winner The Yarn Owl and her beautiful knitted berry grape hat.  I've still got a couple of hand knitted baby hats and cardies that I bought years ago and they still look wonderful, so if your starting a family or have already started, they are a wonderful investment!

Have a great day =)

GranMa's Got a Whole New Look...

And the chosen colour is purple, purple, purple to match MadMum Knits's lovely Wrist-Warmers, todays Red Hot 100+ winner.  As Liz (AKA MadMuM) has a love for wool and all things knitted, it seemed appropriate to have these elements with a touch of fun, included in the treasury.  I've actually purchased a couple of items from Mad Mum Knits, one item being a pineapple tea cosy and my friend absolutely loved it!  Please do take the time to visit her shop!

Spring Trip to Paris...

Today's Crafty Folk Team Red Hot 100+ winner is Phoebe Dreams and the chosen item her lovey Tiny Yellow Earrings.  Surprise surprise I've made a treasury in which to feature the earrings, well I like making treasuries =)  The theme I went with was a trip to Paris, with a vintage feel to it, as thats what comes to mind when I look at these earrings.

Have I ever been to Paris, no, but I'm lucky enough to live not too far from a French bakery, well 20-30 minutes walk, but hey for delicious pain au chocolat and Almond croissants that's not too far!  There are also a couple of french vintage and antique shops near by that are well worth a visit!  So with that I'll bid you au revoir until the next post =) xx

African Infusion...

Today's Crafty Folk Team Red Hot 100+ winner is Katie Bug Creations 4U's and the item chosen is their beautiful African Bead Necklace, made with Fair Trade beads.  So inspired by the colours and origin of the beads, I've created this African themed treasury, to give a little taste of the beauty of the African continent =)

Some Like It Hot.......

My holy do dah, it is cold today!  I've just made this treasury for todays Red Hot 100+, the item being the lovely handmade applique fabric flowers crafted by Nurichant.  I went with a warm tropical vibe, whilst sitting drinking cup after cup of decaff tea to stay warm!

Celebrating St David's & St Patrick's...

I think I first became aware of St David's Day when I had Mrs Rogers as my, what is now called year 3, teacher.  She could throw a piece of chalk with lightning speed at the desks of those that weren't paying attention or chatting in class!  I remember buying a leek broach for her at a charity shop and giving it to her as a gift =)  In year 6 we visited a place that looked very much like the river shown in Urban poppy's photo, during our week away with the school.  It was so beautiful there!  St David's Day is on the 1st of March.

As for St Patrick's Day on the 17th of March, well I can't remember not being aware of it!  There have always been Irish folk in my life. My sister's hubby is from Dublin and they have been together for 14 years, with Bewley's tea finding a place in my kitchen.  As an adult I've discovered Guinness.  A small glass poured cold from a glass bottle is not only good for you, its yummy!

Sea Side Treasuries...

No doubt anyone visiting my blog will be able to tell that I like making treasuries!  I've always loved the sea and I've been lucky enough as a child to of visited Prestwick beach in Scotland, during school holidays and beaches in Venezuela when visiting family.  Both types of beach are beautiful and I enjoyed them both.  So inspired by the many beautiful finds on Etsy, I created these treasuries =)

Here's a picture of one of my favorite bracelets.  I have a similar one for sale in my shop.  I just love these fine silver Karen Hill Tribe charms and beads!  I used different types of semi precious stones to represents the different hues of the seas =)

Count down to Spring & Easter...

Spring is a beautiful time of year, with the blossoming of cherry trees and little flowers popping up out of the hard ground, with the aid of the warmer days.  We also have Easter and the spring equinox which hold special meaning for some (its not all about chocolate eggs honest).  For close friends of my family, being Greek Orthodox, Easter has always held more importance then Christmas for them.  I always looked forward to Greek Easter because my auntie would make flaounes, which are yummy!

I Love Coffee...

Here's a treasury I made featuring some of my Crafty Folk Team mates and other talented Etsyians, for Mother's Day.  Being a mother of 7 I really do at times feel like I need a good cup of coffee!  Lucky for me my eldest sometimes brings me home a lovely latte from our favorite Italian, in Crouch End =)

Here's a pic of my of one of my jewellery sets.  These pearls remind me of yummy coffee!

New Team, New Treasuries...

I've just joined a new Etsy team today, so I've been up to a bit of treasury making.  They are both Mother's Day themed with a fair share of spring flowers.  No doubt I'll be making another treasury soon, as I didn't use all the lovely items I found!

Think I'll have a little look at some beads online as well =)  A girl (woman in my case) can never have too many beads...

Brussels Sprouts are one of those veg's people seem to either love or hate.  I think the secret is not to over cook them and to pick ones that are the same size, so they cook evenly.  But they are so good for you, as they are jammed full of vitamins.

K.I.S.S Jewellery.........

Keeping it Simple Silver, is what K.I.S.S stands for.  Sometimes less is more and beautiful jewellery doesn't need to always be complicated.  Letting the gem stones and pearls talk for themselves in simple designs, is great for creating jewellery that can be worn on all types of occasions.  So here's the eye candy =)

Friday night at Little Paris...

Just a very quick post as its nearly 2am, but I thought I'd share this gorgeous photo that my talented friend Melonie took of one of her leather key rings, whilst we were at the Bar Boot at Little Paris this evening.  It's perfect for Valentine's!  Little Paris was lovely as usual and it was nice to meet new people and have a chat with now familiar faces. I even had a repeat customer which was lovely.  There was wine, but I was good and stuck to water!
